About the race:
Every year ISK helps to host the Martha's Vineyard Oar and Paddle Regatta from our beach location in Sengekontacket pond. Swimmers and paddlers of all kind come together to race 2.4 miles and raise money for cleaner waters! The proceeds from the race go to Friends of Sengekontacket, who works to keep the water that we race in every year protected.
How It Works:
This year every racer will race together in one group, and will be competing against others in their category! The race will take place at 10:00am on race day. The winners from each category will be announced after all the races are completed.

Tentative Categories:
1. Single Kayaks
2. Double Kayaks
3. Paddle Boards
4. Kids
5. Swimmers
Need a boat?
Island Spirit Kayak is proud to donate our entire fleet of boats for the race! If you want to participate in this awesome race and use our equipment you can do so, we just ask that you give an extra donation to FOS for the work! All of our Single and double, and triple kayaks and all of our paddle boards will be available. If you want to use one for the race, please check the box during registration.
Safety
There will be safety kayakers at different points across the paddle route during the race. The race takes place in relatively calm and shallow waters. PFD's must be worn during the race.
What can I paddle?
Racers are welcome to paddle anything that floats. We usually have kayaks, paddle boards, swimmers, canoes, row boats, and the occasional bath tub! Everyone will race in different categories depending on your racing equipment.
What's The Price?
The race is $50 a person. Single paddlers pay $50 and doubles pay $100! Remember, proceeds go to keeping our waters clean! This price includes an entry into the race and a racing day packet, plus the chance to win some awesome prizes!
Who Can Paddle?
EVERYONE! We are proud to have racers from 5 years old to paddlers in their 90s! We also have a special category for people who paddle with their dogs! This is a family friendly race, and while we have our share of fierce competitors, we have many young families compete!
